studio visit

Immie came down to my studio for a little visit last weekend. Even though the little barn is in our backyard, she really doesn't spend much time in there. But this weekend I let her "help" me organize.

Also, I asked her to pick out her favorite color from my bin of Q yarns. She chose Lupine and said "boo". It's a lovely blue/purple--the color of her Immie blanket. So interesting! I thought for sure she'd pick pomegranate or clay. I love getting to know this little person.

(Guess someone's going to be getting a Lupine sweater sometime this year...)

scarves etc. 2013

Thought I'd share the Scarves lookbook here, too. We've been frantically working at Quince to get this released.

I love the color palette Pam put together. She's an amazing stylist/creative director. And all the designs are fantastic! I'm so happy with this collection. Hope you enjoy it, too.

I'm thrilled to be apart of the blog tour celebrating the release of Kelbourne Woolens: Volume 1, a book that includes many of our favorite patterns by Kate and Courtney, all in The Fibre Company's yarns, of course.

I have a soft spot in my heart for The Fibre Company as it was my first job in the yarn world. When the company was first starting out they operated a mini-mill on the edge of Munjoy Hill in Portland--just a few blocks from my apartment. I spent many hours on the carding machine or making skeins, while dreaming of all the things I'd like to knit in their yarns.

Well, years later, I'm still imaging what I would like to make in their yarns! Here is the sweater Hawthorn, in Road to China light, and an outfit I could easily (wish to) pair with it.

And guess what? You can enter a giveaway for a copy of the book by leaving a comment below. I'll draw a winner at random on Monday!
