the autumn flowering Anemone or Windflower. i'd love to plant some of these in my garden next year. so Lovely.

So pretty. I love the name - windflower... Sounds kind of native american somehow. Do you know where it comes from? Does it grow on plains and survive in windy conditions?

actually it's Greek. i guess there is a story in Greek Mythology that this flower blossomed from the blood of Aphrodite's dead lover. wind refers to the wind blowing the petals open and also in time, blows the dead petals away. so poetic.
