just for fun
Last weekend I knit myself a beret version of Leila in Kelp to match a vintage dress. A dress that I can not (will not, and never have been able to) fit into. But, I knew just the gal with just the right (slender) measurements who would be able to slide that zipper up with no trouble at all—Abigail. She's a lovely model we use for Quince and she was getting ready to move away from Portland (boohoo!) last Monday. I really wanted to give her the dress before she set sail, but I also really, really wanted to photograph her in it. Just for fun. And, so I did...wearing Leila.
Note to the stylist (that was me): Pull hat up off forehead, so it actually looks like a beret. (oh, the things I think of after the shoot is over.)
ps: that is Abigail's empty apartment. such a beautiful space.

Absolutely beautiful! The photos, the hat, the model. Just lovely.
Thanks, Erin!
Beautiful woman, beautiful dress, beautiful knit and beautiful place for a... beautiful picture (as always)... I do understand you were sad to say goodbye. Don't worry though, i'm the slender type too, so next time you'll be looking for a new home for another vintage dress, i'd be glad to help ☺
Oh, I'll keep that in mind!
:)
Gorgeous pictures! The design elements in each shot are stunning.
thanks!
So no more Abigail in the lovely quince photos! That is sad. Lovely as always - I have had a couple of vintage dresses I have tried ever so hard to fit into, but none as pretty as this one.
The photos, like all of yours, are so beautiful. I am sorry to hear your lovely model is leaving, but hopefully there is someone new in your sights!
To be able to wear a gorgeous dress like that--sigh! And even though the hat may be a beret, I like having it pulled down on her forehead.
Yes, I need to get out and scout for new models...and new vintage dresses...
